One of the most attractive historic centres in Tenerife
There is one obligatory stop on the road towards the north-west region of Tenerife - San Juan de la Rambla, a town where you can bathe in the appetising La Laja natural pool and whose historic centre attests to a rich heritage, one which has earned the town the title of Place of Cultural Interest. Cobbled streets such as Calle de la Alhóndiga lead off from the central Rosario Oramas plaza, where you can stroll along enjoying one of the most beautiful town centres in Tenerife.
Lose yourself in streets that hold a rich heritage
Local history is centred around the church of San Juan Bautista, which dates from the 16th Century. Nearby are the homes built by the first Europeans to settle here, such as the Oramas house, whose main façade can be seen from the street and includes a fabulous wooden balcony with lattice work. The heart of the town conserves a rich heritage of stone houses with red tiled roofs and delightful wooden balconies.
